Matchbox Twenty emerged as a multi-platinum rock band that produced memorable emotional anthems that shaped the alternative pop-rock sound of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The band achieved mainstream success through their introspective lyrics and radio-friendly melodies which produced multiple chart-topping hits that continue to attract both original fans and new listeners.

Matchbox Twenty formed in Orlando, Florida before their 1996 debut album Yourself or Someone Like You became a commercial success through hits such as “Push,” “3AM,” “Real World” and “Back 2 Good.” The album achieved massive commercial success in the United States by selling more than 12 million copies because of Rob Thomas's powerful singing and the band's commercial radio sound. The band released their second album Mad Season which produced three successful singles "Bent," "If You're Gone" and "Disease" that solidified their status as a leading hitmaker of the time.
